As an Author of Award Winning Children’s books( now it wasn’t always) I have had the opportunities to go all over the world motivating would be writers, especially school children, about the coolness of reading and writing. To generate enthusiasm in people about reading and writing has brought me to know thousands of kids parents and everyday people hoping to become a published writer.
It is the one thing in my life that I was supposed to do from the every beginning.
I have been in most of thevarious sorts or writers. A newspaper reporter, having written thousands of articles. I have written for magazines covering topics as environmental and political, and even covering special personalities.
I have written educational curriculums,environmental education guides,and numerous other learning texts.As most writers do they have another life. The one that actually makes a living. I was a teacher now retired sort of.
For a time I wrote two columns on writing and the writing life for two magazines one in the US and one in Canada. I enjoyed that.
Now I am a full time Author of children’s literature. This was what I realized was the genre for me. I have written so many topics about so many different things they simply were not as fun. Children’s writing is very rewarding and very difficult. They are a tough audience as are as their parents. I will write some more on this another time in a post.Look for that.
But for now I am a writer of all sorts. This is what I do and what I cannot ever complain. This is a true gift given to me meant to be used as a blessing to all who read my stories and books.
